Alton & Barbara McDonald Scholarship Fund

The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin welcomes the Alton and Barbara McDonald Scholarship to its family of funds. A charter agreement was recently signed to establish this new fund at the Community Foundation. The fund will award an annual scholarship to a SPASH or Pacelli graduating senior or Portage County non-traditional student demonstrating a strong record of community service. Portage County college graduates entering the UW School of Veterinary Science are also encouraged to apply. "The fund will award its first scholarship in the spring of 2013." said Terry Rothmann, Executive Director.


Community Foundation Announces Grant Awards

The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin has awarded $130,000 in grants to non-profit organizations and causes from the Arthur E. Heinz Charitable Fund.“This is the first allocation from the Heinz fund since it was started in 2011, and we are so pleased that it has significantly increased our capacity to make the community a better place.Unfortunately, needs continue to increase as local state and federal budgets are pared.Our volunteers review 66 grant requests exceeding $577,000.” said Executive Director Terry Rothmann.
The Heinz fund helps the Foundation meet its mission, which support arts and culture, education, the environment, wellness, and projects that help people.Recipients include:
